UV-Vis Spectrometer (UV-Vis Spectrometer):
UV-Vis Spectrometer (Gem 3000) measure and record the absorption of electromagnetic radiation from 220-1000nm. Some gemstones have characteristic absorption spectrum and differ to their simulant or treated counterpart such as dyed culture pearls, coral and Fei Cui. This technique is also useful to identify CVD synthetic diamond and HPHT synthetic diamond from natural diamond.
FT-IR spectrometer :
FT-IR spectrometer measure and record the absorption and transmission of Infra-Red radiation. The absorption or transmission spectrum is unique for each molecular structure such as different environment of nitrogen in diamond to determine the Type or the present of polymer in Fei Cui. Due to the uniqueness of the spectra, the species of the sample can be determined by comparing with our in-house spectrum database.
Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (EDXRF):
Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy uses specific fluorescence from each element to analyze the chemical composition of the material. The energy and height of the emission are measured and recorded to calculate the concentration. This method can be used to separate salt water pearl from its fresh water counterpart, natural ruby from synthetic ruby or glass filled ruby.
DiamondSureTM:
DiamondSureTM uses spectroscopic technique and built in database to identify natural, synthetic diamond or other simulants.
。
DiamondViewTM:
DiamondViewTM uses ultra short wavelength UV source to reveal the inner structure of the diamond to differentiate the structure of natural, CVD(Chemical Vapor deposition) and HPHT(High-Pressure-High-Temperature) Diamond.
Sarin DiaMension™ HD:
DiaMension™ HD is a scanning device to measure diamond proportion, it provides accurate geometric measure of the diamond for various shape and cut. The system uses high resolution camera, specific light condition to determine the cut and symmetry grading of the stone. The built in symmetry grading system of this device is approved by the GIA.
